TIA Robotic Solutions to distribute Kahlman ergonomic lift assist products

TIA Robotic Solutions has joined forces with Kahlman Produkter AB, the Swedish manufacturer of the high end Quick-Lift™ lift assist product line. This agreement gives TIA sole marketing and sales responsibility for the Quick-Lift™ line throughout the UK and Ireland.

Quick-Lift™ Systems are sold throughout the world to high output and demanding industries including the automotive and aeronautic sectors, general metal working, distribution and logistics, food, beverage and medical industries and similar applications. Quick-Lift™ systems are available in load capacities to 300Kg, with optimised ergonomic and work safety features, state of the art production speed and movement precision.

They feature highly sophisticated
programmable electronic controls and electric drives, giving customers a lower cost of ownership than other technologies such as vacuum or pneumatically driven systems.

Within their target industries, these systems are called upon to perform a huge range of lifting activities, handling anything from a simple load to a complex aerospace fixture requiring very precise positioning control during an assembly operation. Their sales success therefore depends critically on being equipped with the correct grippers for the application – an issue that TIA is ideally placed to solve with their long experience in, and access to, gripper technology. TIA can source or design and integrate vacuum, magnetic or pneumatic grippers into a simple or complex assembly tailored to the needs of each individual customer. The result is an ergonomically designed lifting solution that maximizes operator productivity while minimising strain and fatigue over extended periods of time.

Carsten Billeschou, MD of Kahlman, comments: "TIA, with its long experience and high competence in the area of automation and end effector design is the perfect match for Kahlman and will be able to add the best possible value to our product line in the UK".

TIA supplies quality end effector solutions for robotics and automation systems sourced globally and supported locally out of its headquarters in Derby, UK. TIA's clients are from a range of market sectors including aerospace, automotive, medical, research and packaging and are typically systems integrators, OEMs, robot suppliers and research laboratories.

Products include magnetic, pneumatic and vacuum grippers, tool changers, high speed spindles, compliant robotic de-burring and de-flashing tools, centre of compliance tools, compliant end effectors and anti crash devices. Semi and fully custom tools are also available. The range has recently been extended with the Kahlman family of ergonomic lifting products.

TIA also provides services complementary to its products, including tooling design support, installation, consultancy, service and training as well as tooling evaluation trials. The company has ISO9002 approval and is an active member of BARA – British Automation and Robotics Association.
