Swisslog appoints new Managing Director

Pieter Feenstra returns to Europe to take on the role of Warehouse & Distribution Solutions (WDS) Region Head Europe II and Managing Director of Swisslog (UK) Ltd.

Swisslog, a global provider of integrated logistics solutions for warehouses and distribution centres has appointed Pieter Feenstra as Head of WDS Region Europe II. This region consists of the United Kingdom, Benelux and Australia. In addition Pieter will take on the role of Managing Director Swisslog (UK) Ltd.

Pieter has returned to Europe from Australia where he was Managing Director of Swisslog's Australian operation since 2005. Before going to Australia, he was Managing Director of the Benelux subsidiary of Swisslog. During a long career with the company, which started in 1987, Pieter has built up an extensive experience of the logistics market.

On his new appointment, Feenstra said: "This new role is a great opportunity for me. It allows me to expand Swisslog's business in such an important market as the United Kingdom and at the same time still to be involved with the customers and employees in the markets I previously worked in."

With the appointment of an experienced manager like Pieter Feenstra, Swisslog is looking to further strengthen its position as a leading provider of industry solutions to the supply chain industry within the UK and the Benelux.
