Rosewood opens new Cumbernauld timber packaging site and appoints Operations Manager
Rosewood Packaging is pleased to announce that it has opened a brand new timber packaging manufacturing site, where Willie Bernard has been appointed as Timber Operations Manager. The unit is located adjacent to Rosewood's corrugated conversion unit in Cumbernauld, north east of Glasgow.
 The company, which trades as Rosewood Packaging (Scotland) from Cumbernauld, can now offer a unique service designing and manufacturing bespoke timber packaging in addition to the currently manufactured innovative conventional and heavy-duty corrugated products.
Group Sales Director John Lord said, "There are cost benefits to be gained from single sourced packaging solutions and the availability of our timber packaging products will be of major interest to many customers in Scotland that we currently supply with corrugated packaging. We anticipate that our facility will also attract new accounts and lead to job creation and further expansion of Rosewood Packaging (Scotland)."
Willie Bernard brings with him over 26 years of experience gained from working within the packaging industry, which includes his family's company A & W Bernard Ltd based in Coleburn, Lanarkshire. Willie is responsible for stock control, production and quality control and he has already undertaken a key role in helping Rosewood to secure a license to supply ISPM15 compliant timber packaging from the new site.
Meanwhile, Forbes Webster, who has over 25 years of experience in industrial packaging and was appointed last year as Group Business Development Manager, will assist the growth and development of timber packaging sales throughout Scotland.
Rosewood has been designing and manufacturing timber packaging since 1953. Following sustained organic growth and a series of acquisitions, it is now a vibrant, leading member of the packaging industry. Rosewood employs over 200 staff across 6 sites in the North East of England and Cumbernauld.
