On-board weighing specialist offers value-adding IT solutions

Ever at the forefront of developing electronic weighing technology for use on off-highway vehicles, RDS Technology recognises the increasing requirement for an effective and powerful data management tool for everyday use in distribution and storage operations.

With the new Loadmaster i generation of on-board weighing instruments with integral SD/MMC card reader now launched, a straightforward transfer of weighing data to a PC is possible. This allows a record to be kept of customer and product load summaries, enabling faster invoice preparation.

This principle is advanced further by the DMM (Data Management Module) option on the Loadmaster 9000i. This enhanced software feature is centred on the memory card and provides six customer specific reference fields that could include customer address, vehicle, product, delivery address and source; it also offers the ability to upload customer order information to the instrument from a PC. Combined with a comprehensive database search facility, the DMM is ideal for applications where detailed data records are required.

As IT develops, RDS has kept pace by offering the first weighing system with integrated Bar Code Recognition on the market. Particularly useful in distribution centres, this innovation speeds up the entry of vehicle, product or other category entered by simply scanning a bar code. The instrument registers this information and weighing proceeds in the normal manner.

These IT developments in the Loadmaster i range now allow the end-user to take full advantage of weighing data and use it for a multitude of purposes including resource planning and stock control.
