The driving force... why Gray Forklift Services leads the field

The completion of North East Scotland's most comprehensively equipped forklift sales, service and refurbishing centre has been marked by a major 'drive' to meet and get to know forklift users.

More than 300 attended an open day, arranged by Aberdeen-based Gray Forklift Services Ltd, at which they were invited to test their driving skills on a golf simulator, on a Formula 1 Grand Prix simulator... and in a variety of forklift truck challenges.

On a more serious note, they were given the opportunity to view the latest range of Mitsubishi forklift trucks, for which Gray Forklift Services is the region's authorised dealer, and to question Gray's resident experts. The displays and demonstrations covered everything from the ultra-compact FBKRT PAC three wheel electrics, through the flagship N series of gas and diesel trucks, to the 8 to 16 tonne diesel series that's been shortlisted as a finalist for one of the Fork Lift Truck Association Awards in 2008. (Not to mention a comprehensive range of warehouse equipment.)

"We were surprised and delighted by the response," says Operations Manager Keith Robertson. "We've had such a lot of positive feedback, with most people saying it's the best open day they've ever been to. The 'hook a duck' challenge was particularly popular - and a great way of proving the precision and controllability of our forklifts!"

Gray Forklift Services has had a lot to celebrate recently, having won this year's Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks UK Dealer of the Year Award as well as a series of prestigious Gold Awards from the manufacturer over the years.

Having recently passed its 30-year milestone, Gray Forklift Services currently employs 30 staff, of whom 20 are fully trained forklift technicians. The company offers a 24-hour mobile service, as well as the support of its purpose-built premises on Altens Industrial Estate in Aberdeen. Here it holds massive stocks of fast-moving spare parts for all makes of truck - backed up by a central Mitsubishi parts warehouse that ensures next-day delivery. The result: maximum forklift uptime for all of its customers.
