Manitou invests in new parts facility

MANITOU is committed to a first class international customer support and plans to further expand the existing worldwide MANITOU parts turnover from 137 million Euros in 2007, up by 14% from 2006, with the recent official opening of the new MANITOU Logistics Spare Parts Centre, occupying 13 hectares and located on the Saviniere business park in Ancenis, France, close to the main MANITOU headquarters and incorporating two buildings with 22,000m2 of warehouse space and a covered despatch bay area of 5,500m2.

Included within the Logistics Centre is the latest technology to deliver the MANITOU customer back up which is so essential to maintaining minimum down time and maximum efficiency. The new high added value handling processes and equipment - tray, pallet and package conveyors, storage and retrieval systems, make use of radio frequency, and audio techniques for picking with universal implementation of bar coding.

The MANITOU Logistics Centre represents a total investment of 23 million EUROS, and is a significant venture for maintaining efficient delivery schedules. New management and optimisation systems have been implemented resulting in high volume parts processing, improving warehousing and transportation procedures to react to the increasing worldwide demands for genuine MANITOU parts.

MANITOU Logistics Centre in figures:
• 30 tonnes of spare parts are shipped every day to more than 90 countries.
• 62,000 line items are kept in stock in the World Parts Centre.
• 4,000 customer orders are processed every day.
