A new ‘class-leading’ global Hyster website has been launched to help companies identify suitable trucks for their specific materials handling applications to aid the decision making process.

As the only company to design, manufacture and supply (through its network of local distribution partners) a full line range of materials handling equipment from 1 tonne to 52 tonne lift capacity, Hyster requires an extensive, multi-faceted website that is both modular and regionally beneficial.

“The global website presents a consistent global brand image, with regional market customisation and offerings” says Kate Pointeau.

The redesign and development of the new Hyster global website (www.hyster.com) was based on thorough research and is therefore customer focussed in its level of content. “The content has been carefully considered to include not just what Hyster wanted to say, but what our customers wanted to see.” says Kate Pointeau.

The global website incorporates a great depth of information according to Kate. “The depth of content available, which is easy for customers to understand and easy to locate, enables the user to make an informed decision about the type of truck required. For example, a selection of case studies, presented by sector, shows customers the types of trucks that will suit their specific applications.”

Sectors represented are; storage and distribution, transport and logistics, construction materials, paper and packaging, food and drink, ports and terminals, manufacturing and heavy industry.

“‘From Promise to Proof’ is a recurring Hyster theme and the application specific case studies are the evidence that supports Hyster claims about dependability, reliability, productivity and low cost of ownership offered by its range of tough trucks.” says Kate Pointeau.

The new Hyster global website also supports the aftermarket and service support side, with a dealer locator for customers to select a local dealer from the strong network of specially selected Hyster distribution partners.

One of the key benefits of a truly global website is consistency, according to Kate Pointeau. “The new strong branding across the globe emphasises the strength of the Hyster brand and Hyster products” she says.

The website has been developed using a leading web content management platform from Ektron which enables companies to create, deploy and manage enterprise-scale, global, personalised websites.

As an innovative and advanced project, the Hyster global website has been the subject of several seminar sessions run by Ektron, where Allie Wilkins, Digital Marketing Manager for NACCO Materials Handling Limited was asked to speak in order to share the company’s experience.

“There is a lot of information that needs to be shared across multiple languages and that is supported by the speed and agility of the new global website, which has been designed with the customer in mind, combining advanced functionality and ease of use” says Allie Wilkins. “This is a class-leading website in our industry.”
