CHEP, the global leader in pallet and container pooling services, has signed a three-year contract with Highland Spring Group,  the UK’s largest supplier and producer of naturally sourced bottled water and owner of brands such as Highland Spring, Speyside Glenlivet, Hydr8 and Hydr8 Flavours.

CHEP Pallet Stack
The new agreement extends CHEP’s existing provision of pallets to Highland Spring Group to in excess of 310,000 flows per annum, which equates to an estimated 75% of the total pallet usage across the Highland Spring Group operation, making CHEP the preferred pallet platform provider. Key to the deal has been a joint business plan put in place by the two organisations that will run for the length of the contract, and will deliver significant supply chain savings and efficiencies.
Under the new agreement, CHEP will be supplying industry standard B1210A pallets (1200x1000mm) using a variety of flexible service offers, as well as supplying heat treated pallets for use in emerging markets in the Middle East.  In addition to the projected supply chain savings to be delivered by the joint business plan, the new agreement will also see both companies explore various transport collaboration initiatives to improve supply chain efficiencies further.

CHEP UK & Ireland Managing Director, Howard Wigham, said: “We’re delighted that Highland Spring Group has committed its future pallet business to CHEP in this way, by making us its preferred pallet platform provider. The business plan we have in place is both innovative and adventurous, and I’m genuinely looking forward to seeing how this will develop over the next three years as we continue to help Highland Spring store, move and protect its products through the supply chain.”

Commenting on the new deal Highland Spring Group Assistant Purchasing Manager, Michael Bodeau said: “Highland Spring Group has ambitious growth aspirations and we need to be working with organisations that have the size and scale that can partner with us to help achieve this growth.  This new deal with CHEP clearly demonstrates both of our intentions to develop our joint business plan, and we look forward to working on various initiatives during the next three years that will help deliver growth.”
