The Minster software solution is utilised by Brakes Logistics, Marks and Spencer and Bidvest Logistics among many others and manages the distribution of products as diverse as food, cleaning materials, stationery and office equipment.

Minster products are tested under challenging environmental conditions to ensure they will deliver to the highest standards. This approach has enabled the company to develop a voice-controlled system ideal for chilled and freezer storage locations which significantly increases the level of productivity compared to traditional paper-based methods.

The return on investment delivered with Minster’s proven warehouse and distribution management software is considerable. The use of its voice-enabled solution has significant positive benefits including increased levels of accuracy and productivity with the likelihood of human error kept to a minimum. Customers report they are able to advance their service offering and improve efficiency without impact on staffing.

Integrating different software is often one of the biggest problems faced during programming projects. Minster has confronted and resolved this challenge by incorporating an optimised traffic route planning facility into the WMS.

minster-logo-cmykSeamless transfer of route data and optimisation results, including scenario planning, now guarantee shorter order-to-deliver cycles. In addition, Minster’s electronic Proof of Delivery (ePOD) and Transport Control System (TCS) allow drivers and customer service teams to share information and improve a client’s ability to accurately predict order deliveries.

Minster’s heritage and reputation as a partner of choice is demonstrated by its enviable client base of major distributors across the UK. The company’s people are all highly qualified with lengthy experience in the logistics and software industries. The team is lead by Phoebus van Deventer, the Managing Director, who achieved an impressive record of success in the logistics arena in his native South Africa.

One customer to adopt the Minster voice-controlled software system is Bradshaw Group. In order to deliver to the customer’s requirements, Minster had to configure its solution from managing a ‘container’ business to managing Purchase Orders and the deliverables. One instance involved allowing amendments of shipping quantities to be captured at remote sites via limited Internet access. Minster also had to capture and maintain individual item delivery dates across an order.

The Minster system central processing facility allows the processing of a sale from order receipt to purchase order to invoice. It also includes clearing supplier invoices for payment based on actual received quantities.

“We previously had to send emails with spreadsheets across to our quality teams and factories whereas now we have full visibility from sales order through to invoicing” explains Martin Thom, CEO of Bradshaw Group.

Minster provides Bradshaw with a live central master product database across a number of geographic regions with the ability to control some data centrally and release other data ownership to the regional offices.

Most recently Minster added a feature for Bradshaw to participate in the Trade Islands document exchange portal for a major retail customer. Apart from the direct cost savings to Bradshaw it also allows for much better cooperation and communication with its customer.

Thom continues: “As we head into the exhibition season and focus on product development, quality delivery and supply chain management, Minster assists with our inventory acquisition and distribution processes in a most efficient manner.”
