A director of a CESAB forklift dealership is taking on a challenge of Olympic proportions by taking part in four big sporting events over the next two years.

Tracy-MacInnes---approved

Tracy MacInnes of Enterprise Handling in Whitley Bridge, near Doncaster, is training for two open water swims in the Lake District and the York marathon this year and a 51 kilometre run on the Great Wall of China in 2014.

Aiming to raise £3,500 for the Meningitis Trust, Tracy is training three times a week to get to peak fitness before the first swim in June and the marathon in October. However her greatest challenge will be the Great Wall Run which she was inspired to enter by a close friend who is also competing to raise money for the meningitis charity. The event will see Tracy and other competitors running two half marathons and a final 15 kilometres over six days.

Tracy: “I’ve been running on and off since I was a child and I did the Great North Run a couple of years ago, so I’ve got some experience of big events, but the next year or so will be a real challenge. I’ve always wanted to see China so the Great Wall Run will be an amazing opportunity to do something completely different and see a new part of the world.

“My friend’s daughter contracted meningitis but she fortunately made a complete recovery. While this was a terrible time for the whole family, it made everyone realise the fantastic work that the Meningitis Trust does, so I am now really pleased to be able to support my friend and give something back to a cause that helps so many people.”
