The Automated Material Handling Systems Association – which is once again hosting the AMHSA Pavilion at IMHX – is inviting visitors to take advantage of its free ‘Meet the Experts’ seminars during the show.

DaveTaking place in a small presentation theatre within the AMHSA Pavilion in hall 19, the series of short seminars will give insightful overviews of key automation topics. After each session, visitors will be able to chat to the speaker and other AMHSA members over complimentary refreshments in an exclusive hospitality area.

With the seminars being free but space limited, AMHSA is urging visitors to pre-book their seat at amhsa.eventbrite.com. As an added incentive, visitors who register for one of the two seminars being presented by special guest speaker, Tony Ventrella – Legal Director at Ventrella Associates, who will speak on ‘The dangers of letters of intent’ and ‘The MF/1 model contract’ – will have the chance to win a copy of Tony’s book, ‘A Contractor’s Guide to Contract Law’, worth £40.

Seminars will include ‘A vision of the future’, in which Steve Knights of Knapp UK will explain how the power of augmented reality is being harnessed for logistics. In a presentation entitled ‘Improving order fulfilment productivity for e-commerce’, John Wilbraham of Warehouse Control Solutions will address some of the key challenges facing the retail industry and the way in which simple sorting solutions can improve picking productivity. Those wondering whether cloud technology is the way forward should attend ‘SaaS, the cloud and warehouse automation’, a session presented by Derek Kay of Logistex, who will enlighten visitors on the topic of Software as a Service.

With more than 25 AMHSA members exhibiting at IMHX 2013 – many of them clustered in and around the AMHSA Pavilion in hall 19 – automated handling will once again have a strong focus at the UK’s premier logistics event. As the voice of the UK automated handling industry, AMHSA recently rejoined the FEM (European Federation of Materials Handling) and is looking forward to hosting a workshop in the near future on the new FEM standards.
