Global rollout to follow a successful UK implementation

Mobiletron, a global electronics manufacturer with operations in Taiwan, China, Europe, the USA and Brazil has purchased the Access Delta warehouse performance system with RF (radio frequency) and KPI dashboard management tools to run its European regional warehouse. The Preston, Lancashire-based operation has been growing at over 30% per annum and now carries some 2,500 lines of product, distributed to over 400 customers in 40 countries.

Mobiletron is a leading manufacturer and distributor of own brand and OEM automotive parts, vehicle safety systems and power tools. Access Delta will be installed on a server in Mobiletron’s Taiwan headquarters: UK users will access and exchange data with the system remotely via a dedicated leaseline, in a Citrix thin client environment and with an interface to Mobiletron’s global Oracle ERP system. Once Access Delta has gone live successfully for the company’s UK-based users it plans to roll the system out to its China, Brazil and US operations, according to Mobiletron technical and product manager Michael Huang.

Mobiletron’s choice of Access Delta follows a market-wide review. Commenting on the company’s decision, Logistics Manager Nick Williams says: “We visited a number of sites to view WMS systems in action, and felt that Delta would best support the planned optimisation of our warehouse environment. We are moving from an alphanumeric picking and replacement process to a fully automated one. Delta will enable us to streamline and speed the warehouse operation, track its realtime performance, view inventory graphically on-screen and share our schedules with larger customers.”

Delta – www.deltawms.co.uk – was recently acquired by Access Group, a leading UK business solutions provider, and has become a division of the Group under a new ‘Access Delta’ brand. The acquisition enhances Access’ ability to offer an integrated and smart business-wide solution that monitors and optimises the performance of supply chain operations.

Access Delta claims the highest percentage of 3PL clients of any warehouse systems vendor. The distinctive Access Delta graphical warehouse map enables accurate, real-time inventory management, while Delta’s KPI technology can be used to manage warehouse and wider supply chain performance.

The Access Delta family of warehouse performance solutions can be easily integrated with any ERP or other system, and have been developed for all types of warehouse operation including bonded, distribution, third party and manufacturing. Access deploys its solutions throughout the UK and continental Europe. Access Delta clients include The Co-op E-store, Eddie Stobart, Foulger Transport, Life Fitness, Toyota Tsusho, Edexcel, Condor Ferries, Palletways and The Royal British Legion.
