Newland Engineering Co. Ltd manufacturer of vehicle loading / unloading telescopic belt conveyors has confirmed Greenhill Group LLC as their distributor in the Russian Federation
Mr Dmitry Malyshev of Greenhill Group LLC contacted Newland with an enquiry to replace an existing telescopic belt conveyor at a distribution centre just south of St Petersburg.
The machine specification had a number of special requirements such as operating in sub zero temperatures as low as -30deg C. This was not a problem for Newland as we already have knowledge and experience of manufacturing machines specifically for working in extreme environments. Special component parts such as belt, gearbox oil, motors, control cables, fittings, paint finish, heaters for the control panel and hydraulic oil were required.
Newland were successful in gaining the order and when the machine was ready in August of this year Mr Malyshev took the opportunity to visit Newland’s manufacturing premises in Hyde Cheshire. Following earlier discussions regarding the possibility of having an official distributor in Russia both parties were convinced this was the next logical step.
Michael Kyrycz Newland Export Sales Manager said that it was fortunate timing as Newland were actively looking for a Distributor in Russia, one of the ‘BRIC’ group of countries it is a market with huge potential.
We have supplied several machines to Russia in the past with a large project involving a conveyor system for Cadburys Russia but without having a distributor.
Finding the right company to be a distributor is not easy as they have to be in the same market sector as ourselves, ‘materials handling’, preferably conveying and have a good engineering background. Greenhill Group tick all these boxes and also have offices throughout Russia.
Mr Malyshev said that Newland Engineering is already known in the international market and has a long standing reputation as a UK based manufacturer of heavy duty telescopic belt conveyors with high build quality. ‘‘I was very impressed with the professional way Newland dealt with my enquiry from the very beginning right through the enquiry stages to order and manufacture. Providing solutions and detailed answers to questions raised by myself and the end user’’.
Newland and Greenhill Group are planning to exhibit together next year at CeMAT Russia, Moscow, 25 -28 September 2013. In the meantime Newland is exhibiting later this year at Logistica 2012, 13-16 November, JAARBEURS Utrecht, Netherlands, Hall 8, stand No. 08. E057 together with it’s Dutch distributors, Pewisys Materials Handling.
