Over 40 staff from Mega dealers across the UK converged on Ransomes Jacobsen’s head office for an Induction Day following the Ipswich-based company’s appointment as the UK distributors of the Mega Professional range of road homologated eco-friendly compact utility vehicles back in April. Ransomes Jacobsen is a Textron Inc. (NYSE:TXT) company.
The attendees, including many from recently appointed dealers, were welcomed by Chris Buckle, Business Development Manager, Vehicles who gave a short presentation outlining the Ransomes Jacobsen business and its position and significance within the Textron group.
Next up was Product Manager Richard Tyrrell who provided a background on the current range of vehicles available from the company’s Cushman and E-Z-GO brands and outlining the strategic position that the new Mega e-Worker electric truck and Multitruck 600 low emission diesel truck will occupy within the business.
Completing the morning’s presentations, Gilles Géry, of Aixam Mega gave an explanation of the scope and scale of the company’s operations in France followed by a detailed overview of the products on offer in the UK together with their main features and benefits.
After a short break for a buffet lunch, the dealers were then able to ride and drive a selection of vehicles and gain a valuable insight into their operational capabilities.
Commenting at the end of the event, Chris Buckle said, “This was the first opportunity we had to get all of our dealers, some existing and several new to the business, together for a detailed review of the range. It was obvious from the enthusiasm around the room that we have a committed and talented group of professional businessmen and women who see the excellent opportunities that the Mega eco range has to offer.”

From the questions and feedback I received it’s obvious that we have a team here in the UK that are determined to make an impact in the growing eco vehicle marketplace.”
