It’s not every day that Inka launches a new Presswood® Pallet. In most cases we can offer a pallet in a range of sizes to suit a huge variety of applications. However, every so often our customers demand something different.
Due to the pressures of the global recession our customers have been asking for a pallet that will withstand the rigors of use, offer weight and cost savings, without jeopardising the palletised products.
It is a lengthy process to create a new Presswood Pallet. From initial design & testing through to creation of the final high-tempered steel tool can take as long as 18 months and cost in excess of £0.4m. It is not a process to be rushed – considering that some our most popular designs have been around for almost 30 years!
So, in answer to this challenge, we are delighted to launch a brand new 800x x1200mm Euro-sized Presswood® Pallet (product reference F8LF4), which offers a 10% weight saving over our stronger pallets of the same size and a cost saving to customers in excess of 15%.
The new F8LF4 weighs just 9kg and is designed to carry loads up to 600kg. Of course it still offers the popular Presswood® benefits of a very low moisture content of around 8%; rounded edges and corners to aid shrink and stretch wrapping; and due to the method of manufacture, can be exported anywhere in the world as it is not governed by ISPM15 regulations.
As a further benefit, the new design allows for 60 pallets per single stack – offering a further 20% space saving!
To accompany this exciting new pallet, work is currently in progress to create a sister-pallet in the familiar 1000 x 1200mm size, which will be ready for the market later in the Spring. In the meantime, the new Euro-Size pallet can be seen on the Inka Stand (D26) at the forthcoming Packaging Innovations exhibition at the NEC.
